COMMERCIAL PROJECT - CAPE CODDER RESORT, HYANNIS MA
In May of 2016 we were contracted to do a job at the Cape Codder Resort in Hyannis, MA. They were in the process of installing a new indoor water park inside an area of existing buildings. Our scope of work was to install a new 8 inch HDPE pipe under an existing building into the area where the construction was going on.
We were given a location, desired depth and pitch by the site contractor as this pipeline was to be used to drain water away from the building. With those parameters in mind, we setup our drill rig with ample setback to achieve the desired depth and pitch at the point where the site contractor was to intercept our pipe and continue to his drainage area.
We proceeded with the pilot bore and finished just under the footing of the existing building as requested to give the site contractor as much pitch as possible.
The drill head was then removed and replaced with a backreamer to open up the hole to accommodate the pipe being installed.
The 8 inch pipe was then attached to the backreamer ready for pullback. The drill then pulled the pipe under the building, back outside, ready to be intercepted by the site contractor.
